LIVING THE WAR BOOK

Living the War is a magazine dedicated to documenting life during the Russia–Ukraine war. The first volume explores it through the experience of Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital, and Russiaʼs attempt to capture it. With chronology reconstruction, eyewitness accounts, and photo evidence, the volume provides a big picture of Kyiv during Russia’s war against Ukraine. How did the largest war since WWII start? How are people living through it? Why were so many experts wrong? With this volume, you will be able to find the answers, and create your own understanding of historical events that took place after February 24th.

Twelve personal testimonies of different people who happened to be in Kyiv, when Russia had unleashed the war. Five chapters focused on specific periods, starting with a threat of the war in January, and ending with a transition to a new phase of war in October.

A powerful collection of images by eight photographers and artists, depicting the ongoing war from multiple angles. The funds raised will go to the project of a shelter with an educational program for children from war-affected areas.
