Bevza the fall winter 25 collection
UNVEILS ELEGANCE AND CULTURAL HERITAGE
Ukrainian Institute of America, New York, February 14th — as a Ukrainian brand, BEVZA shows committed to expressing its rich cultural and historical heritage. The collection pays homage to Ukraine’s significance as one of the largest grain-producing countries globally while elegance takes center stage, embodying the brand’s core values and cultural mission.
Grain, a fundamental element, serves as a symbolic representation of Ukraine’s cultural wealth and resilience. BEVZA endeavors to showcase these values to a global audience through its meticulously crafted Fall-Winter 25 collection.
Sustainability
At BEVZA, elegance transcends mere style; it reflects a strategic approach to clothing, viewing each piece as a valuable investment. The neoclassical, high-quality pieces presented in this collection are poised to become timeless classics, essential additions to any wardrobe.
Key elements
Apron dresses
From evening elegance to everyday chic, apron dresses made from eco-leather, costume fabrics, and viscose exemplify the versatile appeal of BEVZA’s designs. The cut is taken from a real apron to accentuate the metaphor of ‘we cook bread.’
Square shape
The collection’s aesthetic foundation is rooted in the stability and clarity of the square shape, an architectural form prominently featured across all BEVZA collections.
Kozukh
The A-shaped cut of the coats is inspired by the traditional 19th-century Ukrainian coat called ‘Kozukh.’
Handworks
The brand is strongly dedicated to handcraft in support of Ukrainian artisans. Thus, the ‘Kozukh’ coat is handmade from sheepskin, and the ‘Tisto’ (Ukrainian name for dough) vest is hand-knitted to showcase the texture of raw bread, including the ‘Kosa’ (Ukrainian name for braid) bread pattern.
Clasps
Building upon the brand’s iconic use of grain in signature spikelets and bag hardware, this element takes on new prominence in BEVZA’s latest jewelry line as well as clothing clasps as holders.
Venue
The choice of the Ukrainian Institute of America as the venue for the runway is not arbitrary. Two years ago, just before the full-scale invasion, BEVZA held a New York show precisely on Feb 14. This selection carries symbolic significance, aligning with the shared mission of the brand and the institute to actively support Ukraine, foster artistic endeavors, and serve as a representative “Window on Ukraine.”
About Ukrainian Institute of America
Founded in 1948 by William Dzus, industrialist, philanthropist and inventor of the first quick‐acting fastener used throughout the world in making aircraft also known as the quarter-turn fastener. The fastener, initially developed to fill a need in the manufacture of aircraft, opened and closed with a quarter turn. It was used to secure against vibration such detachable parts as engine cowlings, access doors and electrical plugs.
The Ukrainian Institute is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the art, music and literature of Ukraine.
The entire collection is produced in Ukraine in 2023.
